At Bright Behavior Therapy, we provide personalized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy for children and teens with autism. Families can access center-based ABA therapy at our clinics in Dearborn, Novi, Troy and West Bloomfield, as well as in-home ABA therapy when appropriate.
Every child has different strengths, needs and goals. Our team takes the time to understand your child and develop an individualized treatment plan designed to support meaningful progress at home, at school and in the community.

What Is ABA Therapy?
Applied Behavior Analysis, commonly called ABA therapy, is a research-based approach to understanding how behavior and learning are influenced by a person’s environment.
ABA therapy uses observation, assessment, positive reinforcement and measurable goals to help children build useful skills. Progress is regularly monitored so the treatment plan can be adjusted as a child learns and develops.
ABA therapy is not a one-size-fits-all program. Treatment should reflect each child’s abilities, interests, communication style, family priorities and everyday environment.
What Can ABA Therapy Help With?
ABA therapy can address a variety of skills that affect a child’s everyday life. Depending on the child’s assessment and treatment goals, therapy may focus on:
- Communication and language
- Social interaction
- Play and leisure skills
- Motor skills used during everyday activities
- School readiness and pre-academic skills
- Attention and participation
- Daily routines and transitions
- Self-care and independent living skills
- Emotional and behavioral regulation
- Reducing behaviors that interfere with safety, learning or daily activities
The goals selected for therapy will depend on what is most useful and meaningful for the individual child and family.
Individualized ABA Treatment
Before beginning treatment, our team completes an assessment to learn more about your child’s current abilities, areas of need and family priorities. This information is used to develop an individualized treatment plan with clear, measurable goals.
Treatment may include structured learning activities, play-based instruction, practice during everyday routines and opportunities to use new skills in different settings.
As therapy continues, our clinical team collects and reviews data to evaluate progress. Goals and teaching strategies can then be adjusted based on how your child responds.

Center-based ABA therapy may support:
- Consistent routines and focused learning
- Communication and social development
- Peer interaction and group participation
- School-readiness skills
- Play and leisure activities
- Practicing skills in a controlled environment
- Access to materials designed for individualized learning
We provide center-based ABA therapy at our clinics in Dearborn, Novi, Troy and West Bloomfield.
In-Home ABA Therapy
Bright Behavior Therapy also offers in-home ABA therapy for families who may benefit from receiving services in their child’s everyday environment.
Home-based therapy allows skills to be practiced where they naturally occur. Depending on the treatment plan, sessions may focus on communication, family routines, transitions, self-care, play, independence and other activities that take place at home.
In-home ABA therapy may also provide opportunities for parents and caregivers to observe strategies, ask questions and practice supporting their child between sessions.
Availability may depend on your location, your child’s clinical needs, scheduling and insurance coverage. Contact our team to discuss whether in-home ABA therapy may be appropriate for your family.
Center-Based or In-Home ABA: Which Setting Is Right?
The right setting depends on the child and the goals of treatment.
Center-based therapy may be helpful when a child would benefit from a structured learning environment, access to clinic resources, consistent routines and opportunities to practice around peers.
In-home therapy may be helpful when goals involve family routines, transitions, self-care or behaviors that primarily occur in the home.
Some children may benefit from services across more than one environment. Our team will discuss your family’s needs and make recommendations after completing an assessment.

Parents and Caregivers Are Important Partners
Families know their children better than anyone. Parent and caregiver input helps our team select meaningful goals and understand how skills affect everyday family life.
We work with families to help them understand the treatment plan, recognize progress and use practical strategies outside scheduled therapy sessions. This collaboration can help children practice skills across different people, routines and environments.

Children may need support using their skills outside the clinic or home. Bright Behavior Therapy also provides consultation and training for parents, educators, schools and community organizations.
